A sultry voiced DJ, a couple broke indie musicians, and two business analysts walked into a bar in Central Texas. . . . It sounds like the beginning of a really great joke.
Of course Tornado Radio is no joke, but they are the beginning of something really great. And instead of a bar, they might have walked into a coffee shop. In any case, they walked out with a solid plan to help our musicians gain audience, bolster our local economy, and bring the talent of Central Texas into the national spotlight.
Six months later, the first season of the Tornado Radio podcast was complete. There were many golden moments among the amusing segments, artist interviews and live performances by some of the best local acts in all genre. People noticed. The audience is growing.
Tornado Radio created the most comprehensive live music events calendar in Texas. Music enthusiasts from Cameron to Lampasas, and Jarrell to Waco now have a one-stop resource to all the happening spots. The audience is growing.
And they're just getting started.
Season Two promises even more excitement. And the well deserved grassroots pride garnered by the podcast will bring folks out and pack venues all across the region.
Tornado Radio's entertaining format evokes the Rolling Stone Magazine of past decades. Showcasing the wealth of established and up-and-coming artists reveals that Central Texas is destined to be the “new” Austin of our time. And reaching audiences everywhere, the podcast will put our thriving music scene on the national map.
